BHS Special Chorus ranks high at multi-state competition

Thurs. May 30, 7:00 p.m.

Brookfield High School Chorus, led by Choral Director John Mendola came in 2nd place out of 14 schools at a competition, Music in the Parks, held at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia last weekend. The group of 50, who sang acapella, consisted of the Honors Special Chorus. They are the second highest level of chorus at BHS and perform seven to eight times a year.

Although, Jose' Avelar still lives in Port Chester, New York, he doesn't seem to mind the 45 minute commute.

"We have been coming to Brookfield for years for day trips and fell in love with the community," said the owner of Brookfield's newest restaurant Tavern 483. The Grand Opening on May 21 drew a large crowd as Chamber of Commerce business owners gobbled up the Fresh Lobster Rolls and Sizzling Garlic Shrimp.

Emotional story unfolds for lacrosse player on Senior Night

Friday was Senior Night for the Brookfield High School Boys Lacrosse team. They won against Bethel 12 to 2. What made it so special was the Senior who scored the last goal: Nikhil Wahi shown in photos as #25. He did not make the varsity team since this was his first year playing. Instead, he played Junior Varsity.
