Yogi Berra + Sandy Hook = Progress

The main intersection at Sandy Hook Center is lookin' good. It's taken a lot of patience and coordination, but WOW!

A big thank you to the go-to team of local town and state employees, the wire and cable folks, the landscapers, engineers, and geez, it's a long list. But heartfelt thanks to all.

Kudos, too, to those who have been patient with the traffic snafus at the busy Glen, Riverside, Church Hill Road and Route 34 intersection. And let's not forget the small business owners.

Maybe you've stopped in to meet the new owner, Kathy Mendes, at Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor . She and her son, Brian, took over on March 21, the second day of spring. Now they've teamed up with the State of Connecticut so they can sell lottery tix. There's some red tape to wade through, of course, but they ought to have some lucky numbers within a couple of weeks.
