Canadian singer-songwriter Ariana Gillis performs in Ballard Park on Tuesday

Twenty-one year old Ariana Gillis was named Young Performer of the Year at the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Awards. For such a young artist, she has won great acclaim. Elton John’s lyricist and songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin, praised Gillis in a letter he wrote to the young singer's father.
“I’m staggered by how good she is. There is not much that impresses me these days but after hearing her available tracks I can honestly say she’s the single most exciting thing I’ve heard in a very long time.”
Come hear Ariana Gillis on Tuesday, August 7, in Ballard Park beginning at 7pm. This concert is free and part of the CHIRP concert series.
