Bethel Women's Club Selling Flags For Vets For "Flags on the Green"

The Bethel Women’s Club is selling flags for veterans and servicemen and women for Bethel’s annual “Flags on the Green” event. The flags will be displayed from May 20-31 on the front lawn of the Bethel Municipal Center, 1 School Street, Bethel. Proceeds from the sale of the American flags will benefit The Vet House, Bethel Food Bank and Bethel Social Services. Each flag is $10 and includes the name, rank,service branch and dates served of the veteran or serviceman or woman.

Flags may be purchased at American Pride which is located on Greenwood Ave., right next to Whitlock's Restaurant. Orders will also be accepted by sending a check made payable to “Bethel Women’s Club” with the information listed below by May 15 to:

Make sure to include the following information for each flag ordered:

  • Name and Rank
  • Service Branch and Dates of Service
  • Name and Address of Purchaser
  • Your flag may be picked up on May 31, 2011.

The Bethel Women’s Club is a 501c(3) non-profit civic organization and a member of the Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs of CT. Meetings are held in the Municipal Cneter every second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior Center room on the lower level. This month's meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12.
