Oklahoma at St Mary's School this Weekend!

St. Mary School, Bethel, is proud to present G2K Oklahoma! Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. Performances will take place at St. Mary School 24 Dodgingtown Road in Bethel.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration, the landmark musical, Oklahoma!, established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. The high spirited Western rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which a handsome cowboy and winsome farm girl play out their love story. Love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road! The musical comes alive as performed by St. Mary School students in grades four through eight.

Led by veteran music teacher Mrs. Barbara Chamberlain and well known Bethel dance instructor Mrs. Lucille Lividini, the cast and crew have been working hard singing and dancing to create the atmosphere of the Wild West and the intimacy of a small town story. “Our after-school dedicated theater group has been hard at work for two months to rehearse and put on this show, and they are quite a talented group,” says Mrs. Chamberlain.
