On July 29th, two foursomes of golfers walked 54-holes of the Redding Country Club golf course to raise money to support the First Tee at Fairchild Wheeler in Bridgeport.

The three groups raised money for the Bridgeport chapter of The First Tee of Metropolitan New York and The First Tee of Connecticut. First Tee brings golf to thousands of young people across Fairfield County. The event raised $8,00T0 through the all-day efforts of the participants who included: (include all names here).

Children from Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Stratford along with other cities who participate in First Tee events take part in a seven-week program with a variation of driving range practice and classroom instruction. Nearly all First Tee activities are conducted by PGA professionals These golf professionals teach kids the rules of golf as well as how to respect themselves, their peers, and their environment. The First Tee Life Skills experience sets The First Tee apart from many other youth initiatives and junior golf programs.

The dawn to dusk, 54-hole event exhausted the players but all appreciated the opportunity to participate in the charity tournament, organized by long-time RCC Member Dr. Dana Taylor.
