Editor's note: This is one of the most difficult stories HamletHub has ever reported on. The details are difficult to absorb and they leave us all asking many questions. We have outlined the facts as stated in the arrest warrant. Please keep the Seitz family in your thoughts and prayers.

Ridgefield resident Kyle Seitz, father of Benjamin Seitz, was arraigned in Danbury Superior Court this week and charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide in connection July 7, 2014 death of his son.

The official warrant states that Seitz told officers that he had left his 15 month old son inside his Jeep Cherokee all day, while he was at his place of employment - Owl Computing Technologies (38A Grove Street in Ridgefield).

Police interviewed Tina Critelli, a receptionist at Owl Computing, who stated that on 07/07/2014, Kyle Seitz arrived at work shortly after 9:00 AM, he had a coffee cup and a small bag in his hands. “Kyle normally stops at either Tazza or Dunkin Donuts for coffee before work,” she stated.

Tina Critelli stated she had spoke with Kyle Seitz numerous times throughout the workday and that Kyle seemed his normal self.

Tina Critelli also stated that sometime around 1:00 PM, Kyle Seitz came to her at the reception desk and informed her that he was going out to pick up lunch and that he would be right back. Kyle informed Tina that he was expecting a business call and that if the call was received to take a message and he would call right back.

At approximately 5:00 pm Seitz left work and went to pick-up his son at The Children’s Corner daycare center.

A witness at Children's Corner told police that as she was walking out, she saw Kyle Seitz walking in front of her in a rushed manner. Once Seitz opened the door of his car, she heard a high pitched noise, and  as she got closer to the car she noticed that Kyle Seitz was in the back seat with a baby and he appeared to be trying to wake the baby. The witness then stated that Kyle Seitz was crying and that he got in his car and sped off.

Kyle Seitz told police that from the daycare center he immediately proceeded to the Danbury Hospital Emergency Room with his son.
