A self-employed, Bethel electrician received a shock of a lifetime when he scanned his Lucky Links with 2XPOWER ticket for the May 28th day drawing in a ticket checker and saw the message, “CONGRATULATIONS WINNER $50,000.”
“I saw on the CT Lottery’s Facebook® page that there were two Lucky Links [top prize] winners. I just didn’t realize one of them was me!” said Caprio with a laugh. “Later, when I checked my ticket in a ticket checker, I was stunned. I’ve never seen it light up with a message like that before!”
“I want to get a new car. I have an older van right now, and it’s really bad on gas,” Caprio said. “I’ll probably also spoil my nieces.”
Caprio purchased his $50,000 top prize winning Lucky Links day ticket at JB Wine & Spirits at 29 Newtown Road in Danbury. JB Wine & Spirits will receive a $500 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the ticket.
