Brandywine Living is proud to announce a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter to bring awareness and programs to the Litchfield County area. Brandywine will host many upcoming events starting with Alzheimer’s Association Awareness Event on June 2nd from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tina Hogan, the Northwest Regional Director and Longest Day Manager, will be available to answer questions, and provide information on local support groups, community education programs, as well as upcoming events such as Longest Day on June 20th, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 10, 2016 and Four Week Caregiver Course Workshops beginning September 22, 2016.
The Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter estimates there are more than 74,000 people in Connecticut with Alzheimer’s disease and a growing population of early onset Alzheimer’s in the state. There are 177,000 caregivers who provide more than 200 million hours of unpaid care each year to family, friends and colleagues. Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only one of the top ten that has no way to be slowed, stopped or prevented. There is no cure.
“The Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter appreciates Brandywine Living of Litchfield for hosting our events to bring awareness to the community about our services.” said Tina Hogan, Northwestern Regional Coordinator and Longest Day Manager of Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, “I look forward to working with them.”
Reflections Serenade is Brandywine’s state-of-the-art memory care program with 24/7 care, combined with the added luxury of Serenade services which include a butler to provide even greater customer service to our residents and their families. Another truly unique feature is the availability of neuropsychology services to educate, counsel residents and family members on the many aspects of living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss.
