Arrangements for Lieutenant Kevin Kennedy (Ret.) are as follows:
Calling hours will be Friday July 15, 2016 from 4PM to 7PM at Bethel Funeral Home located at 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, CT 06801.
Funeral will be held on Saturday July 16th at 10:30AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 18 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, CT. Service will be immediately followed by a procession to Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery located at 19 Tamarack Avenue, Danbury, CT.
Family is requesting donations be made to the Bethel Police Benevolent Association or the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department.
It is with profound sadness that the Bethel Police Department announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Lieutenant Kevin Kennedy (Ret.). LT Kennedy retired one year ago after 34 years of service to the Bethel Police Department, The Town of Bethel, and its citizens.
Last night at approximately 9:00PM, Bethel Police responded to the Plumtrees Heights Condominium Complex after receiving a call from family concerning Kennedy’s welfare. Police responded and located Kennedy on the complex grounds. After a brief dialogue with the responding Bethel Officers, Kennedy shot himself using a personal firearm. Kennedy was transported to Danbury Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
