In today's newsletter, Christine Carver, Ed.D., Bethel Superintendent of Schools wrote about celebrating kindness, the "mask optional" change, the approved 2022-2023 school calendar, Parent University, STEAM EXPO, and more.

Here is an excerpt of the newsletter:

This week we celebrated Kindness. With the new changes in making masks optional for students and staff (effective 2/28/22), we anticipate, even as we see in the broader public, that individuals' choice to wear their mask will be dependent on their own risk factors. We ask you to speak to your children about being respectful of those choices and help to promote a culture of inclusivity. We will be working with our students in the next few weeks during the transition to ensure that they continue to speak respectfully to their peers, regardless of the family or individual’s choice. We ask that you model respectful behavior, particularly online, as our children are watching. Put simply, kindness matters. As a follow-up to my communication early this week, I did want to let you know that to date as of this newsletter, we did not receive any additional guidance from the Department of Public Health. We will communicate any new information as it becomes available.
