Proposed 2024-2025 Annual Budget
The Board of Finance has proposed the 2024-2025 annual budget. They are hosting a public hearing on Tuesday, March 19th, at 7 pm at the Bethel High School auditorium for community input. Visit Bethel Town Comptroller to view the proposed budget. If you can't make the hearing, you can email comments to: budget@bethel-ct.gov. The Board of Finance will consider revisions and recommend the budget to the Town Meeting for a vote on April 4th. The budget will then go to a referendum machine vote on April 23rd.
Eversource Meeting
Eversource met with Bethel and other communities this week to ensure preparedness for unlikely electricity shortages. New England typically has enough electricity, but ISO-New England recently communicated potential shortages that could require controlled outages. Learn more at ISO-New England.
Utility Bill Reminder
Utility bills for Bethel Water and Sewer customers are in mailboxes today. Please remember payment is due before April 1st.

Senate Bill 153
Senate Bill 153 could create a significant cost increase to Bethel, shifting the costs of special education transition at technical schools to towns. Learn more about this potential impact on Bethel's special education funding.

Office Hours
The next office hours are Monday, March 4th, from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Town Hall in the First Selectman's office. It is a perfect time to pop in if you have ideas or concerns. Of course, you can always call and make an appointment.
Bands Wanted for Events
If you are in a band or know a band, Bethel is looking for bands for Food Truck Fridays on the first and third Fridays in June, July, and August, as well as the summer concert series on Sundays in August. Email firstselectman@bethel-ct.gov for more information.
Parks and Recreation Spring Flyer

Wrap-A-Rescue
Support local animal shelters and care for furry friends at Wrap-A-Rescue at Greenwood Features tomorrow, March 2nd, from 11 am to 3 pm and Sunday, March 3rd, from 2 pm to 6 pm.
