Yorktown Community Day on Saturday, June 18

Jefferson Valley Mall and The Town of Yorktown will host the 27th annual Yorktown Community Day on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. This admission free celebration will feature exhibits, attractions, activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, both inside and outside of Jefferson Valley Mall. 

“As a staple to the Yorktown community, we are excited to once again host Yorktown Community Day,” said Alexa O’Rourke, marketing director at Jefferson Valley Mall. “We encourage local families and friends to enjoy this event as well as the shopping, dining and entertainment options available at Jefferson Valley Mall.”

The event will kick-off with a presentation of exciting announcements. Special Guest from WP Glimcher, Natalie Battisti will take the main stage to share details about Jefferson Mall’s highly anticipated redevelopment plans. Afterwards, the “Three Cheers for Yorktown Volunteer” ceremony presented by YOUnited will commence. Honorees from not-for-profit organizations will be awarded with a proclamation by Yorktown Supervisor, Michael Grace.

The ceremonies will conclude with the announcement of the Yorktown Youth Soccer Participation Award ceremony.

Outside of Jefferson Valley Mall’s newly renovated south main entrance, attendees will enjoy free dance and musical performances by local artists, food trucks, a Grand Prix inspired go-kart track, sport demonstrations by Yorkville Sports Association, a display of emergency vehicles, face painting and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about various community organizations and volunteer opportunities.

Inside the mall, live musical performances by local bands will take place on the stage located in. Plus, many of Jefferson Valley Mall’s popular retailers, including Yankee Candle and Things Remembered will offer special promotions.
