Musical Monty Python's Spamalot Looks on the Bright Side of Life This August

The Brewster Theater Company is shining a bright light on a mystery of history this summer - why is it called The Middle Ages, when nothing comes after it? King Arthur and his knights of the very, very, very Round Table in their quest for the Holy Grail encounter rude Frenchmen, cancan dancers, a Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, killer rabbits, catapulting cows, and the somewhat odd Knights who say "ni". Lovingly ripped off from the motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT is the fresh Broadway hit and irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend. It was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning three, including Best Musical for 2005.

Leading the quest is King Arthur (Robert Ansbro of Mahopac) with his trusty servant Patsy (Bob Dumont of Patterson); Paul Stein (Brewster) as Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave; Jim DiBlasi is Sir Robin (Riverdale); Philip Corso (Poughkeepsie) is Sir Galahad; Lou Simmons (Millerton) is Sir Bedevere; and featuring Robin O'Leary (New York City) as The Lady of the Lake. The rest of the cast includes: Amanda Bevacqua, Amanda Booth, Anthony Bollella, Joy Arzaga, Barbara Kessler, Phil DeHuff, Brad Cassini, Brandy Hughes, Christopher Moser, Elizabeth Dumont, Emily Malavenda, Emma Burke-Covitz, Janette Devine, Jerusha Wright, Jenna Isabella, Ken Shelby, Mario Riccobon, Michael Wright, Pam DeHuff, and Tony DeCristofaro. The production is stage managed by Russell O’Leary, and produced by Executive Board members Judy Brewster, Stacy Dumont and Joe Manuele.

The show is directed by Christopher Gladysz, Artistic Director of The Brewster Theater Company,  who has directed, choreographed, and designed sets for most of BTC’s summer musical productions including: The Drowsy Chaperone (2015), City of Angels (2013), The Full Monty (2012), The Sound of Music (2011), Anything Goes (2010), and Bye Bye Birdie (2009). Melissa Jones is the Musical Director. In addition to directing cabarets and musicals for BTC, Ms. Jones has musical directed for Musicals at Richter and The Brookfield Theater for the Arts.
