Brewster Students Treated to NY Youth Symphonic at Carnegie Hall
On Sunday, March 8, 2015, students from the Brewster High School Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Strings ensembles traveled to New York City to see a performance by the New York Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall. The New York Youth Symphony was established over 30 years ago as a tuition-free ensemble for talented musicians ages 12-22 and today leads the country as one of the best student orchestras. The New York Youth Symphony, under the direction of newly-appointed New York Philharmonic assistant conductor Joshua Gersen, performed an outstanding program of works by Beethoven and Rimsky-Korsakov on Sunday with BBC New Generation Artist Elena Urioste.
