New Brewster Schools Superintendent Announced

The Brewster Central School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michelle Gosh as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2024. The Board is confident that Dr. Gosh’s extensive experience, vast curricular knowledge, and her understanding of and dedication to the Brewster community, make her the ideal person to lead the district into the future. Dr. Gosh will be embarking on her new role as Dr. Laurie Bandlow retires from the district on June 30, 2024, following five years of exemplary service.
Dr. Gosh holds a Doctorate of Education from Johns Hopkins University, Masters of Science in Education from Fordham University and Western Connecticut State University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Marist College. She began her career in Brewster as a Social Studies teacher and transitioned from the classroom to administration as Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment. Dr. Gosh has served as Deputy Superintendent since 2021.
Dr. Gosh has a proven record of student-centered leadership, with a focus on instruction, curriculum, and data-driven decision making. She is a collaborative leader who is adept at building trust among her peers, staff, and students, leading internal teams, creating community partnerships, and maximizing funding streams. In the past 12 months alone, Dr. Gosh has overseen the introduction of our two-way Dual Language Program, spearheaded the creation of our in-house Pre-Kindergarten Program, and secured a $2.56M P-Tech grant which will provide our future P-Tech students with a free Associates Degree in high-demand STEM fields from Westchester Community College.
As the internal facilitator of Brewster Vision 2026, the district’s five year roadmap for student success, Dr. Gosh is well-poised to maintain our commitment to help our students become informed and engaged global citizens who are critical and creative thinkers. Her familiarity with all facets of the district provides her with a unique perspective to hit the ground running on July 1, 2024.
We look forward to Dr. Gosh’s continued commitment to the Brewster Central School District as she transitions to her new role. We appreciate the feedback we received from the community as the Board made this important decision. As always, we thank our Brewster community for their continued support
