Troopers Promoted During CT State Police Ceremony

TROOPERS PROMOTED DURING CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE CEREMONY

The Connecticut State Police promoted Troopers to various ranks during two separate ceremonies in September. The promotions were made at the State Police Training Academy.

Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Commissioner Reuben F. Bradford and Colonel Danny R. Stebbins, Commanding Officer of the State Police, formally promoted the Troopers to the ranks of Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Master Sergeant and Sergeant during the month of September.

Major Louis J. Fusaro, Jr.

Major Fusaro will remain in his current position as Commanding Officer of the State Police Emergency Services Unit and the Office of Counter Terrorism. He has been a Trooper for 19 years and has earned multiple department awards. Major Fusaro earned his B.A. from the Citadel and a M.S. from Western New England University. He has served in the Army National Guard and lives in East Lyme with his family.

Major Edwin S. Henion

Major Henion will remain in his present assignment as Commanding Officer of the Labor Relations Unit. Major Henion has been with the Connecticut State Police for 24 years. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Juris Doctor. He resides in Danbury with his family.

Major Dale Hourigan

Major Hourigan will be assigned as the Commanding Officer of Selections and Training. He most recently served as Commanding Officer of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force. He has been a Trooper for 29 years and has earned numerous department service awards. Major Hourigan earned a B.S. from the University of New Haven and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Senior Leadership School He previoulsy served as a Patrolman in Wallingford for five years. He resides in Wallingford with his family.

Major Mark Panaccione

Major Panaccione will remain in his present position as Commanding Officer of the Bureau of Field Technology, Infrastructure and Transportation. He has been with the State Police for 19 years and has earned several department awards. He previously served in the Massachusetts Air National Guard and as a Police Officer in Sutton, MA. He holds a B.S. from the University of New Haven. Major Panaccione lives in Old Saybrook with his family.

Captain Mark Cassista

Captain Cassista will be Commanding Officer of the Special Licensing and Firearms Unit. He most recently served as Lieutenant and Commanding Officer of Troop F in Westbrook. He has been a Trooper for 28 years and has earned numerous department awards. Captain Cassista holds a B.S. degree and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He resides in Westbrook with his family.

Captain John Eckersley

Captain Eckersley will be the new Commanding Officer of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force. He most recently served as Commanding Officer of Troop K in Colchester. Captain Eckersley has been a Trooper for 24 years and has earned numerous department awards. Captain Eckersley holds a B.S. degree from Westfield State College and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He formerly served as a Police Officer in Westport, MA. He lives in Stonington and has two children.

Captain Samuel F. Izzarelli, Jr.

Captain Izzarelli will remain in his present assignment as the Executive Officer of Bureau of Field Technology, Infrastructure and Transportation. A Trooper for 26 years, he has earned numerous department service awards. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Central CT State University and previously served as a Police Officer in Glastonbury. Captain Izzarelli lives in Hebron with his family.

Captain William Kewer

Captain Kewer has been assigned as Executive Officer of the Emergency Services Unit. Most recently, he was the Commanding Officer of the Eastern District Major Crime Squad. With 23 years as a Trooper, he has earned numerous department awards. Captain Kewer holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He lives in Oakdale with his family.

Lieutenant Patrick Torneo

Lt. Torneo has been assigned as Commanding Officer at Troop F in Westbrook. He most recently served as Master Sergeant at Troop F.

Lieutenant Eric Murray

Lt. Murray will remain in his present assignment at the State Police Training Academy. He most recently served there as a Master Sergeant.

Lieutenant Harold "Chris" Johnson

With his promotion, Lt. Johnson has been assigned to the Professional Standards Unit. He most recently served as a Sergeant in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Lieutenant Kenneth Cain

Lt. Cain will serve on the Statewide Narcotics Task Force. He most recently was a Sergeant in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Master Sergeant Michael Hassett

M/Sgt. Hassett will now be assigned as Executive Officer at Troop F in Westbrook. His last assignment was also at Troop F as a Sergeant.

Master Sergeant Kevin Stratton

M/Sgt. Stratton has been assigned to serve as Executive Officer at Troop H in Hartford. His most recent assignment was with the Central District Major Crime Squad, where he served as a Sergeant.

Master Sergeant Richard Piaseczynski

M/ Sgt. Piaseczynski will remain in the State Police Office of Field Operations at Headquarters. He previously served as Sergeant in that office.

Master Sergeant Donna Tadiello

M/Sgt. Tadiello has been assigned as Commanding Officer of the Traffic Services Unit. She most recently served as a Sergeant at Troop H in Hartford.

Master Sergeant William Kittle

M/Sgt. Kittle will serve as Executive Officer of the Selections Unit, where he most recently served as Sergeant.

Sergeant Steven Zonghetti

Sgt. Zonghetti has been assigned as Supervisor of the Governor's Security Unit, where he most recently was a Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Colleen Anuszewski

Sgt. Anuszewski will now be assigned to Troop E in Montville. She previously was in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Sergeant Marc Grandpre

Sgt. Grandpre will serve at Troop G in Bridgeport, transferring from the Western District Major Crime Squad.

Sergeant Alain Bisson

Sgt. Bisson has been assigned to Troop B in North Canaan, transferring from Troop H in Hartford.

Sergeant Massimo Delia

Sgt. Delia will be assigned to Troop A in Southbury, transferring from Troop G in Bridgeport where he served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant James Heffernan, Jr.

Sgt. Heffernan has been assigned to Troop K in Colchester, transferring from the Casino Unit.

Sergeant David Noble

With his promotion, Sgt. Noble will remain in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, where he most recently served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Mark Puzzo

Sgt. Puzzo will be assigned to Troop H in Hartford. He previously served as Resident State Trooper in New Hartford.

Sergeant Edward Benecchi

Sgt. Benecchi has been assigned to Troop I in Bethany, transferring from Troop A in Southbury, where he served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Jeffrey Couto

Sgt. Couto will serve at Troop E in Montville, transferring from Troop F in Westbrook, where he served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Ryan Hennessey

Sgt. Hennessey has been assigned to Troop I in Bethany, transferring from Troop A in Southbury, where he served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Timothy Begley

Sgt. Begley will be assigned to Troop K in Colchester, transferring from Troop C, where he served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant William Blumenthal

Sgt. Blumenthal will serve at Troop F in Westbrook, transferring from Troop A in Southbury, where he served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Josef D'Uva

Sgt. D'Uva has been assigned to Troop B in North Canaan. He most recently served as a Resident State Trooper in Oxford.

Sergeant Eric Hurley

Sgt. Hurley will serve in the Aviation Unit, where he most recently served as Trooper First Class.

Sergeant Dane Hassan

Sgt. Hassan has been assigned to Troop A in Southbury. He previously served in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
