Rosemary Ermentraut died peacefully March 18 of natural causes at Danbury Health Care after a brief residence there. Rosemary, who had lived in Brookfield since 1959, was born October 30, 1935 in Queens, NY to the late Herbert and Rose.
Rosemary worked at several local banks for over 30 years, retiring from Union Savings in 1997. Her passion was children, including teaching them to play ping pong and board games, swim at Candlewood Lake, and water ski. She also enjoyed dogs, yard work, bowling and socializing with family and friends.
Rosemary is survived by Nancy (her niece) and her husband, Joe Grimes of Brookfield, with whom she resided after retirement. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Standt, and brother-in-law, Bill Martin, both of Brookfield. Four other nieces and nephews, Richard Standt, Susan Feigin, Roger Standt (Almeda), and Colleen Martins (Carlos) survive along with several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her twin sister, MaryLou Martin and brother-in-law, Fred Standt.
