lululemon has a special ambassador program which is offered to select individuals in their store communities. The esteemed role of Community Ambassador is offered to select individuals who live and work in lululemon store communities and embody the lululemon lifestyle, brand, and mission.
lululemon Community Ambassador Deidre Americo, an experienced, registered Yoga teacher and Reiki Practitioner shares a personal account of how being a yoga teacher has enhanced her life - and allowed her to give back to the community.
After experiencing positive changes through my own yoga practice, I began teaching vinyasa yoga in 2009 in my free time as a way to find balance with my day job, working as an Art Director in the the deadline-driven world of advertising.
It quickly became clear that not only was yoga my passion, but I could be of better service & benefit more people by teaching yoga. Making the transition into teaching full time, I currently teach multiple group classes and private individual sessions. Believing that yoga can be practiced by everyone, I work with a wide array of students, ranging from athletes, to people with limited physical mobility; from yogis that have been practicing for a lifetime, to people who have never tried yoga. My yoga teachings focus on the physical benefits of poses, the energy flow in the body by moving fluidly from one pose into the next, the healing aspects of breathing techniques & meditation.
To serve my community, I donate my time to Ann's Place, offering weekly, gentle yoga classes for people living with cancer, and their families; and of course, teach community yoga classes at lululemon Danbury! I am grateful to be surrounded by such an inspirational and supportive community, and am excited for the possibilities that each new day holds!'
