ROCKY HORROR RETURNS TO THE PALACE DANBURY

Ready to do the Time Warp again? If so, plan on being at The Palace Danbury on Saturday, October 25 at 8 p.m. whenThe Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to the theatre.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a musical parody of B-movies, science fiction and horror films. Released in 1975, the film stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O’Brien, and Patricia Quinn

Rocky holds the record for the longest-running release in film history – a whopping 39 years and counting. Interestingly, the film bombed during its first run in 1975. However, when it was re-released as a midnight movie, the film really took off! In fact, it was a midnight mainstay at The Palace Danbury theatre during the 1980’s.

One of the reasons for its long life is audience participation – and that’s exactly what’s expected at the October 25 screening. Audience members are encouraged to dress as their favorite character, throw props at various times during the film, and be ready to yell back lines of dialogue as part of the audience partici- (SAY IT!)-pation.

To make participation easier,  prop packs, which include all the permitted props, can be pre-ordered when purchasing tickets online.

Tickets for The Rocky Horror Picture Show are general admission and cost $15; admission with a prop pack costs $20. Tickets can be ordered online at www.thepalacedanbury.com , by phone at 203 794-9944, or purchased at the door the night of the show.

The Palace Danbury is located at 165 Main Street, in downtown Danbury, Connecticut. Free parking is readily available for theatre patrons behind the building.
