The Other Place

CASTING 2 female and 2 male actors, ages 20 to 60, any ethnicity
AUDITIONS will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 6pm-8pm and Sunday, June 26 from 11am-1pm at the Brookfield Library community room (182 Whisconier Rd, lower floor). Callbacks, if needed, will be on Sunday, June 26 from 12 noon-1pm. Please bring a headshot, resume, and list of all schedule conflicts. Rehearsals will begin in July.
PERFORMANCES are Fri. & Sat. at 8pm, Sept. 9 - Sept. 24 with a Sunday matinee on Sept. 18 at 2pm.
SHOW DESCRIPTION: Just as Juliana Smithton's research leads to a potential breakthrough, her life takes a disorienting turn. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. One step at a time, a mystery unravels as contradictory evidence, blurred truth and fragmented memories collide in a cottage on the windswept shores of Cape Cod.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Juliana (female, age 40 to 60 A successful neurologist, confident and businesslike. Her life begins to fall apart as the plot unfolds. Actors auditioning for Juliana should know that it is a demanding role that includes long sections of monologue.
Ian (male, age 40 to 60) Juliana’s husband, an oncologist. Intelligent, patient, strong-willed, has filed for divorce.
The Woman (female, age 20 to 30) plays multiple characters including the daughter of Juliana & Ian, a doctor, and a woman
The Man (male, age 30 to 40) plays multiple characters including Richard Sillner, and a nurse
Sides will be provided at auditions. Familiarity with the play is helpful.
