Andrew DeSimone

Andrew DeSimone, 85, of Brookfield, CT, husband of Caroline (Perri) DeSimone, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Regional Hospice & Palliative Care of Western CT, Danbury.

Mr. DeSimone was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 31, 1933, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Greifrida) DeSimone. He attended New York schools and was a retiree of Hage & Azrak, Inc.

A resident of Brooklyn, NY prior to moving to Brookfield three years ago, as a resident of Brooklyn, he was a member of the Bay Ridge Gun Club where he achieved the rankings of Marksman and Sharpshooter. He enjoyed the card game of poker, most especially Texas Hold’em and was a recipient of numerous trophies for his winning at many poker tournaments. Mr. DeSimone was a fabulous Hand ball player and an avid coin collector.

He most especially adored his great granddaughter, Emily Grace…the light of his life!

Mr. DeSimone was a member of St. Joseph Church of Brookfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Julie Conner and her husband Will and Caroline Hanley and her husband Bryan Conner; two brothers, Albert Figuccio and his wife Emily and Peter Figuccio; a sister, Madeline Picozzi; five grandchildren, Kristi Conner, Billy Conner, Brain Conner and his wife, Mary Alice, Daniel Hanley and his wife, Sloane Hanley and Jessica Hanley; a great granddaughter, Emily Grace Conner and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. DeSimone was predeceased by a sister, Louise Picozzi.

Family and friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, Mary 3, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Interment will be private and at the direction of the family in Center Cemetery, Bridgewater, CT.
