Despite the fact that golf courses are still considered non-essential businesses under NY PAUSE orders, Gov. Andrew Cuomo clarified Saturday that private golf courses may allow golfers.
The language in "Pause NY" was amended to read "private operators can permit golfers access to the property", “so long as there are no gatherings of any kind and appropriate social distancing of six feet between individuals is strictly abided”.
The Empire State Development is currently evaluating whether to include public courses as well in the order.
Putnam County Golf Course decided this evening to re-open tomorrow morning while adhering to the strict social distancing guidelines. In an e-mail announcement received by HamletHub.com at 9:00 pm this evening the operators of the course wrote"
