Putnam County Land Trust 's Gathering Is An On Line Event

The Putnam County Land Trust is inviting the residents of Putnam County to gather for an evening with the Putnam County Land Trust through a Facebook Live event on Friday evening, June 19th at 7 pm.
The program will include awards, an auction and videos of PCLT's preserves.
The Blue Heron Award is given to a person or organization that has made a difference in protecting land in Putnam County. This year's honoree, Attorney Susan Carpenter has been assisting with PCLT land protection projects for many years providing legal advice and work.
As an all volunteer organization, PCLT has developed a stewardship system to help with the care and maintenance of its preserves. This year, there are two stewards being recognized for their work on PCLT properties.
Paul Waclawski led a dedicated group of volunteers in cleaning up the tornado damage from the May 2018 storm. The Brandon Farm Preserve in Patterson was left in a shambles. It was estimated that 80 percent of its trees were knocked downed. Paul and the team cut through the fallen trees where possible and re-directed the trail when that became necessary. They completed the work in an amazingly short period of time
Keith Cox of Mahopac has worked in a different but no less compelling way by helping preserve
stewards create and improve trails and by addressing the invasive plants that find a home in our
woodlands. Tom's Path and Brandon Farm in Patterson, Field Farmstead in Brewster, the Koestner
Preserve in Putnam Valley and the Lindera Loop Trail at our headquarters on Cobb Road have all
benefitted from Keith's attention.
Auction items will include Jim Cook's unique and beautiful handcrafted bird houses. This year, Jim has made three that will be part of the auction. We invite you to join in and place your bids on the 19th.
