Doansburg Chamber Event To Feature Trio Of Flute, Harp and French Horn

The Doansburg Chamber Ensemble will open its 2022 season with a live performance by its trio of flute, harp, and french horn. This performance will also be broadcast as a virtual performance. The program will be broadcast from St. Mary in the Highlands Church  (1 Chestnut Street in Cold Spring, New York) on Saturday, July 16, at 7 p.m., simultaneously with the live performance which takes place at St. Mary in the Highlands.

An additional live performance will take place on Sunday, July 17 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (2103 Route 6 Brewster, New York).
 
The Ensemble will perform works by Barboteu, Koetsier, Bresgen, and Bacos in a concert that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
 
The Doansburg Chamber Ensemble consists of accomplished musicians who, along with several guest artists, annually present a concert series of outstanding musicianship in a charming, rural church setting. The artists have been heard at major performance venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and Lincoln Center. Their artistic musicianship will please audiences of all ages.
 
Flutist, Christine Smith, is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Pre-College Division, and she holds a Master’s Degree in Education. Ms. Plaisted, harpist, has performed with the Doansburg Chamber Ensemble since 1989. She also performs with New York Grand Opera, the Berkshire Opera Company, and the Albany Symphony. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, and she attended the Geneva Conservatory for postgraduate studies. She received a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School. Ms. LaFever, hornist, has performed as a soloist in concerts throughout the United States, Western Europe, Mexico, and Japan. She has partnered with some of the world’s finest musicians and has appeared at the American Landmark Festivals at Federal Hall, St. Bartholomew’s Tuesday Chapel Concerts, and the Noonday Concert Series at St. Paul’s Chapel, all in Manhattan. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and Manhattan School of Music. Ms. LaFever is the Music Director of Rutherford Congregational Church, and the Director of The Ridgewood Singers.
