Pawling Public Radio is Going Country!

Pawling Public Radio (PPR/WPWL) Board Chairman Bill Bonecutter announced today that WPWL 103.7 FM is going Country!

“We are pleased to announce that Pawling Public Radio will be broadcasting a country music hour entitled Rockin’ Country with T.  We have been tossing around the idea of a country music program for about a year, and were actively looking for the appropriate team to host the program,” Bonecutter said.

The one-hour, pre-recorded format will include spirited conversation between the show co-hosts, Tina Marie and Andrew Gallagher, founding members of the New Jersey-based country music band Whiskey Crossing. Tina and Andrew currently host a three-hour music program on WSRX-LP 107.9 FM, Vernon, NJ, ranging from Sparta, NJ to Florida, and also reaching 12 towns in NY. The Pawling Public Radio edition will be a specially produced hour featuring original, independent country musicians interspersed with today’s well-known performers.

Jacque Roche, Board of Directors Trustee and Director of Marketing & Sales at PPR/WPWL, developed and introduced the new program concept during the July 15th board meeting, and the idea was unanimously approved.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tina, Andrew, and their band Whiskey Crossing as guests on my Wednesday night broadcast, Jacque’s Giant Hudson Valley Music Show, as well as during the January Music Hall Showcase fundraiser. Tina is an on-air natural and her voice is radio perfection. Those traits combined with the duo’s positive upbeat personalities, and delivered with an optimistic Christian message, which I believe Pawling listeners, along with the Hudson Valley and Lower Harlem Valley Region, will enthusiastically embrace,” Roche explained.

The pre-recorded program is positioned to be broadcast Wednesday afternoons, 2-3 pm and Saturday evenings 8-9pm.  Everyone is invited to stream the inaugural broadcast on Saturday, July 22nd via the Internet at www.PawlingPublicRadio.org between 8 and 9 pm EST.   An encore program will be rebroadcasted on July 26th from 2-3 pm.  As with all PPR programing, past shows are archived and available on mixcloud.com.
