Sheriff Kevin J. McConville reports the following DWI arrests over the weekend:

April 9, 2024

On April 5, 2024, at approximately 10:45 pm a Deputy was travelling northbound on Peekskill Hollow Rd in the Town of Putnam Valley when he was struck by a southbound vehicle

which crossed over into his lane. The Deputy sustained injuries to his eye and hand and was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle, 42-year-old Jennifer Hunt was observed to be intoxicated and failed the field sobriety tests. She was

arrested and charged with felony Vehicular Assault 2 nd degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1 st degree. She was also charged with misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and traffic infractions of Operating with a License Restriction, Fail to Keep Right, Move from Lane Unsafely, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Operating a Vehicle While Using a Mobile Phone. Hunt was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and was arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Court where she was ROR to appear at a future court date.

On April 6, at approximately 2:30 am Deputies observed a vehicle driving erratically, including failing to maintain its lane on Danbury Rd. in the Town of Southeast. A traffic stop was

made and the driver, Hector Buchyolos, 38 years of age of Brewster, was observed to be intoxicated and failed multiple field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and transported to the Correctional Facility for processing where he was charged with misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content greater than .18%. He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Southeast Court for a future date.

On April 7, at approximately 1 am Putnam County 911 broadcast an alert for an erratic driver in the area of Route 22 and 311 in Patterson. The vehicle was being followed by a

concerned citizen. Deputies began looking for the suspect vehicle and were able to locate it westbound on Route 6 in Carmel and initiated a traffic stop after observing the vehicle swerve out of its lane. After failing field sobriety tests, the driver 72-year-old Kathleen Hibbs of Wappingers Falls was placed under arrest and transported to the Correctional Facility for processing. She was charged with a misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and traffic infraction of Move from Lane Unsafely and was released with an appearance ticket for a future court date in the Town of Carmel Court.

On April 7, at approximately 11:20 pm Deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle accident on Tammany Hall Rd in the Town of Patterson where a vehicle had traveled off the

roadway and struck a mailbox. After interviewing the driver, 46-year-old Elizabeth DeLuca of Patterson, NY, and conducting field sobriety tests, she was placed under arrest and was

charged with misdemeanor DWI and Aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content greater than .18%. She was processed at the Correctional Facility and released with an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Patterson Court.
