Big weekend for Greenwich Aquatics Water Polo!

The YMCA of Greenwich Water Polo recently competed in the Junior Olympic NEZ Qualifier in Reading, PA. The club secured the #1 NEZ seed in six out of eight age-groups, going  20-5.  The 14U B team took two losses, one was to the Y's A team.  The 16U Boys and 18U Boys each had one loss, but by only 1 goal each. All 10 teams that came into qualify will be going to JOs this summer, sending over 120 athletes from Greenwich Aquatics - the most the club has ever taken or any other club from the east coast ever.

Coaches from Brown, Harvard, Princeton, George Washington, Naval Academy, Washington & Jefferson, Utica, Villanova & Mercyhurst, were on hand scouting the players.  "These coaches specifically came to the qualifier to watch the Greenwich Aquatics players." said Senior Manager of Water Polo Operations Kim Wang. "With many of them Division 1 water polo schools recruiting primarily from California, it is very exciting to know that college coaches have their eyes open to the Greenwich players!"
