Breast Cancer Alliance Annual Run/Walk set for May 6th

On May 6, runners and walkers of all ages—from toddlers to grandparents—will lace up their sneakers and join hundreds of Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) supporters in Greenwich, CT for the organization’s annual Run/Walk for Hope. The event brings together families, friends, neighbors and the family dog—for a fun and meaningful morning as participants remember loved ones who lost their lives to the disease and honor courageous breast cancer survivors.

Recognizing the important role fitness plays in both prevention and recovery, BCA added a 5K run to its annual 1-mile walk in 2016. This year, the organization is expanding the event further with its inaugural Walk or Run Where You Live. Women, men, and children in communities throughout the U.S. will join supporters in Greenwich, CT on May 6 running or walking in their hometowns—around their neighborhood, on a school track, along the beach, through the mountains, wherever their feet may take them. Walk or Run Where You Live reflects BCA’s ever-broadening funding focus and efforts to extend vital research grants beyond the New York metro area. It’s an easy, healthy, enjoyable way to make a big impact!

Participants can register for either event at: https://www.flipcause.com/index.php/secure/event_step1/Mjc1NTM

Breast Cancer Alliance is one of the largest private, non-corporate breast-cancer organizations in the U.S. Since its founding in 1996, BCA has awarded approximately $25 million in grants, supporting its mission to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment, and cure. To promote these goals, the organization invests in innovative research, breast surgery fellowships, regional education, dignified support and screening for the uninsured and underserved.
