My kids attended North Mianus Elementary School. The best time of year was the Pow Wow. The students, teachers and community all come together for a weekend of amusement rides, games, food and fish (yes they sell goldfish.)
For me it marked a weekend of not having to cook. I would send the kids down with money hoping they'd get a burger and not opt to eat cotton candy with a slushy for dinner. But the Pow Wow only comes once a year and If that meant cotton candy for dinner, so be it.
