
On Sunday, September 22, and Sunday, September 29, Wooster School will be hosting its first free fall boys lacrosse clinic series to both the Wooster and greater communities.
Each session will be run by the Wooster staff with support from coaches/professionals from 2Way lacrosse.
The clinics will run from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon each day. They will include a practice during which the staff works with players to build and enhance individual skills followed by pick-up games.
These clinics will be open to boys in grades 8-11 on September 22 and boys in grades 4-7 on September 29.
All levels are encouraged to attend.
Coaches:
David Newman: Coach Newman is Head of the Upper School at Wooster as well as the Head Lacrosse Coach. Prior to coming to Wooster, David coached for 18 years in the New England Prep School Association, Division I. Many of his players have gone on to play in college including Duke, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Bryant, Colby, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Lafayette, Lehigh, Brown and Bucknell. He is also a member of the 2Way Lacrosse coaching staff.
Peter Newman: Co-founder of 2Way Lacrosse (2waylacrosse.com). Peter has taught and coached lacrosse at Westminster School in Simsbury, Ct for the past 24 years. The program has produced a multitude of college lacrosse players at all levels as well as two current professionals.
Matt Byrnes: Coach Byrnes is Head of School at Wooster and has been a Head or Assistant Coach in the Ridgefield Youth Lacrosse Program for the past nine years.
