Congratulations to Rebeca Gartner, the Danbury High School's girls Soccer Team Goalkeeper, the BlueStreak-Ruden Report FCIAC Player of the Week!!

Rebecca Gartner of the Danbury girls soccer team is this week's BlueStreak-Ruden Report FCIAC Player of the Week, presented by Chicken Joe's*.

Gartner will receive a T-shirt and plaque from BlueStreak Sports Training and $25 gift certificates from Chicken Joe's in New Canaan.

Gartner, the Hatters' goalkeeper, recorded a pair of shutouts, stopping 7 shots and two breakaways in the last 10 minutes of a 2-0 win over Westhill and 7 shots in a 0-0 tie with Darien, which had 12 corner kicks.

To nominate an athlete, send an email to rudenreport@icloud.com with the name of the person you are nominating. Please include all of the player's statistics for the week as well as the team results.

The award will be judged on games/matches/meets played Monday through Saturday of each week. Please wait until an athlete is done competing for the week to submit your nomination.
