A Redistricting Analysis of Danbury's elementary schools will take place on December 5th at 7:00 P.M. at the Broadview Middle School in the Auditorium. The meeting is open to the public. Presentation for Great Plain, Ellsworth Avenue, Mill Ridge Primary, Morris Street, Park Avenue, Shelter Rock, South Street, Stadley Rough schools will be made by Ross Haber, Consultant.

Based on a 2011 presentation at the Board of Education, they were looking at expanding the "Sister School" program. "The approach that is more conducive to the educational needs of children and their families, as well as being more fiscally responsible, is to create formal sister school relationships. When the student enrollment exceeds what the home school can accommodate, move additional enrollees to the sister school."

Presenting the analysis will be Ross Haber, Consultant. The general session will begin at 7:00 with breakout sessions, by school, beginning at 7:30. Parents & Faculty of Great Plain, Ellsworth Avenue, Mill Ridge Primary, Morris Street, Park Avenue, Shelter Rock, South Street, Stadley Rough schools and the public are invited to attend the December 5th meeting at Broadview.

According to 2011 enrollment data, the benefit to redistricting is a reduction of the teacher to student ratio in some classrooms. But there could be some adverse repercussions, including loss of classrooms for special subjects or increased bus ride time, depending on the exact plan enacted.
