Pitney Bowes Grant Brings Title I Schools to The Ridgefield Playhouse for Charlotte's Web

The Ridgefield Playhouse was able to offer free tickets and busing to Title 1 schools (Shelter Rock-Danbury and Stark Elementary-Stamford) because of a grant received from Pitney Bowes Foundation’s Reading & Arts Grant Program.

The free tickets provided were for students to see a production of Charlotte’s Web on February 25, 2016 at The Ridgefield Playhouse.  Special classroom workshops were arranged in advance of the performance, where students were each given a copy of the E.B. White book.  As part of the pre-show literacy workshop, Jodi Simon Stewart, Arts in Education Coordinator for The Ridgefield Playhouse, and volunteers from Pitney Bowes worked with the students in the classroom exploring the themes of the story and writing descriptive paragraphs about their favorite characters.
