Join New Pond Farm on Saturday October 15th from 11am-4pm (rain date: Sunday October 16th from 1-4pm), with the foliage of our sugar maples at its peak, for our annual Harvest Festival featuring historic demonstrations such as broom and rope making, open hearth cooking, and the use of antique tools.
It's also a time to try your hand at some traditional crafts- decorate a pumpkin, make a cornhusk doll, decorate a grapevine wreath, roll a beeswax candle, and more. Also join Dorothy Vallee and her team of Percherons for wagon rides through the pastures from 1-3pm.
The day will also include the viewing of our sheep receiving their fall shearing, with the ability to buy beautifully spun and dyed yarn from last years shearing.
Reservations are not required and the cost of admission is $5 per person (over 3 years old) or $20 per family with small additional fees for crafts and delicious seasonal fare thanks to the Girl Scouts of Redding.
