Charles G. Davis, Sr.

Charles G. Davis, Sr., 64, of Danbury, passed away on January 19, 2017 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Glenda (Brown) Davis.

Mr. Davis was born in Bethel, NC on January 20, 1952; a son of the late Willie and Hilda (Little) Davis. He relocated to the Danbury area in 1971. 

Mr. Davis was employed as a Machine Operator for the Burndy Corporation of Bethel and the Republic Foil Company of Danbury. He enjoyed watching TV; including Sanford and Son, the Andy Griffith Show, wrestling and Clint Eastwood westerns. 

Mr. Davis was a member of Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church of Danbury. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Glenda and their two children: Charles Davis Jr. and Chante Davis. Mr. Davis is also survived by two grandchildren; Arica and Aiyanna Kennedy. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Mr. Davis is survived by three brothers; Von Davis, Gregory Davis and Lindsey Davis, four sisters; Patrice Fitzgerald, Pamela Newman, Kimberly Broadway, and Cornelia Jones as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Mount Pleasant AME Zion Church; 69 Rowan Street, Danbury. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church.
