Marion C. Shaker
Marion (Antous) Shaker, 92, of Danbury, wife of the late Edward J. Shaker, died on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Glen Hill Center, Danbury, with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Shaker was born in Danbury, September 29, 1926, a daughter of Antous M. and Florence (Shaker) Antous. A lifelong Danbury resident, she attended Danbury schools.
She was known to some as ‘Speedy” or “The Energizer Bunny” as she was always in a hurry. She could never be late and always the first to leave. She was a true Yankee lover. Her favorite things to do were Bingo, trips to the Mohegan Sun and spending time at the Danbury Fair Mall with her “buds”.
A warm soul always willing to help or sit by an ailing friend or family member; most of all, she was our loving mom.
A longtime member of the Lebanon American Club Auxiliary, Mrs. Shaker was a member of St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church and its Ladies Guild.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Shaker was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Chory and by a brother, Richard Antous.
The Rite of Burial will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 12 noon in St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Rd. (Rt. 39N), Danbury with Archimandrite Michael Skrocki officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at the direction of the family.
Mrs. Shaker’s family will receive friends at St. Ann’s Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
