Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT KinderKlean!
Three questions with Jessica Barletta, founder of KinderKlean.
Why did you start your business?
My partner has been working in the commercial cleaning industry for over 20 years. Back when he was 6 years old, he accompanied his father to ‘cleaning accounts’ and began helping with the simpler tasks of serving commercial offices and buildings.
As he got older, he stepped out of his role as ‘apprentice’, took on his first job as a cleaner for his Uncle’s NY based business, and grew a passion for one day building his own cleaning company.
I come from a business management and customer service background; with the bulk of my professional career in recruiting.
By the end of 2014, we brought our complementing strengths together and started a cleaning company in the Bronx, NY with a local commercial cleaning franchisor. We learned so much from him and had great success in growing our business while serving our clients. After almost 3 years under the franchisor umbrella, we eventually moved to Danbury, sold our franchise, and eventually launched KinderKlean as an independent venture.
We started with a very clear and simple mission – to provide quality office cleaning services that people can rely on and not have to worry about. All of our clients know to work with KinderKlean means they ‘Leave the Cleaning to Us!’.
Finish this sentence in regard to your business. "I wish I could…"
We strive to create a different experience and conversation around the world of commercial cleaning. Through decades of experience and an obsession with creating efficient systems, our biggest mission is to be the last cleaning decision you will ever need to make!
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
- Hat City Paper & Supply
- All-Star Cleaning Supply
- Noteworthy Chocolates
- Yorio Law Group
- Accurate Lock & Safe
- Gluten-Free Oasis
- C. Van Wattum Therapeutic Massage
We would like to nominate Mia Reichl from King Street Early Learning Center. Mia is a caring and diligent director who is committed to nurturing all of her students. KSELC is a hidden gem in Danbury that more local families should know about and consider when making the best preschool decision for their children.
