The City of Danbury is finding high use of irrigation systems and increased demands on our water supply as a result of the hot weather and it is prudent to prevent usage from escalating. The city is looking to be proactive and prevent an issue, and asking residents to voluntarily stop the usage of lawn irrigation systems until further notice and we appreciate the cooperation of our residents, and business partners.
Stopping the use of lawn irrigation systems provides the most impact to reduce demands on the Danbury Water System.
The City of Danbury is also asking that residents consider postponing planting new lawns or vegetation, discontinue washing vehicles and equipment, and are encouraged to fix leaky plumbing and fixtures.
