MAY 7, 2012 PRESS BRIEFING

1) Tuesday, May 1st, Warrant arrest of Christopher Maduri, 47 Overlook Avenue Fairfield, DOB 9/1978. Charges: DWI and failure to drive right. Maduri was contacted, advised of the warrant and turned himself in. He was released on a written promise to appear with a court date of May 11th. The arrest stems from a single motor vehicle accident that occurred on March 25th at approximately 2:25 AM on Mansfield Avenue in the area of Knollwood Lane. Maduri had been traveling northbound on Mansfield Avenue operating a 2010 Ford Fusion when the vehicle crossed over the centerline and into the southbound lane of travel ultimately striking a utility pole. As a result of the accident Maduri sustained minor injuries and was transported to Stamford Hospital by Post 53 EMS. Prior to transport, the investigating officer detected a odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person and he admitted to having consumed some beer. A search warrant for medical records was obtained with the results indicating that Maduri's blood alcohol level was over the legal limit. A warrant for his arrest was then applied for.

2) Tuesday, May 1st, Larceny of a company Apple i-Pad valued at $420.00 from Nissan Darien, 1335 Post Road. The i-Pad was taken from an employee's office sometime between April 27th at 5:30 PM and April 30th at 7:30 AM. The i-Pad had been removed from the employee's desk drawer and the office door had been left unsecured during that time-frame.

3) Wednesday, May 2nd, Warrant arrest of Donfritz Fleurant, 24 Dolsen Place Stamford, DOB 11/1983. Charges: Threatening 2nd degree and harassment 2nd degree. He was transported to Darien from Greenwich PD, processed for the arrest, released on a written promise to appear with a court date of May 14th. The arrest stems from a complaint filed by Nissan Darien, 1335 Post Road on March 26th , involving a threatening customer survey the dealership had received from the Accused. The survey mailed to Fleurant was in response to a service performed on his vehicle on February 10th. In his response to the survey, Fleurant indicated that he was very displeased with the service and proceeded to make threats against an individual employee as well as a general threat against the entire staff. Fleurant refused to cooperate with investigating officers and was ultimately arrested.

4) Wednesday, May 2nd , arrest of two individuals for violating the town ordinance soliciting without a permit. The incident occurred on Maywood Road at 6:22 PM. The first individual is identified as Sharine Hunter, age 21, of Philadelphia, PA. The second individual is identified as Chalonda Abrams, age 19, of Chicago, IL. Both individuals had been previously warned that they needed a permit in order to solicit in town. Both were going door to door selling magazines and books for a company identified Urban Development Solutions located in Michigan City, IN. Each posted a $199.00 bond which is the applicable fine in this case. They were assigned a court date of May 14th and should they not appear their bonds will be forfeited.

5) Wednesday, May 2nd, report of a stolen Avis rental vehicle, 2013 Ford Explorer, which had been parked in front of a residence on Hollow Tree Ridge Road. A visiting relative had rented the vehicle and arrived at the residence on May 1st at 6:00 PM. The vehicle was last observed at 10:00 PM on May 1st and discovered missing at 8:00 AM on May 2nd. It was reported that the vehicle was locked and the operator had possession of the keys. The vehicle also contained $2,500.00 worth of clothing.

6) Saturday, May 5th , 11:00 PM, arrest of Isaac Davis, DOB 11/1979, 440 E Sandford Blvd Mount Vernon, NY. Charges: DWI and failure to drive right. Posted a $5,000.00 with a court date of May 15th. Operating a 2004 BMW 325XI traveling westbound on the Post Road in the eastbound lane of travel. The vehicle was subsequently stopped in the area of Thorndal Circle. Davis failed his field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. A $5,000.00 bond imposed due to Davis' lengthy criminal history.
