1) Tuesday, July 24th, larceny of a bicycle from the bicycle rack at the eastbound side of the Darien train station. The bicycle is described as a Gary Fisher hybrid mountain bike, color maroon and silver. The owner secured the bicycle to the bike rack utilizing a chain lock combination on July 19th at approximately 10:00 AM. When he returned on July 24th at 11:00 AM, the bicycle was missing and there was no sign of the chain lock. The bicycle is valued at $500.00.
2) Tuesday, July 24th, motor vehicle burglary. The vehicle is described as a 2012 Subaru Legacy which was parked by the owner in front of a residence on Dubois Street and left unlocked. The owner parked the vehicle at 1:15 PM and returned to the vehicle 45 minutes later discovering that her iPod Touch had been stolen. The iPod Touch is valued at $300.00.
3) Tuesday, July 24th, larceny of a bicycle from the area of the bicycle rack located at the westbound side of the Darien train station. The bicycle is described as a Giant mountain bike, color black and yellow, and is valued at $750.00. The owner secured the bicycle to a metal sign post located in the area of the bike rack as the bike rack was completely full at the time. The owner secured the bike at 6:30 AM and when he returned at 6:30 PM, the bike and lock had been stolen.
4) Wednesday, July 25th, larceny of a bicycle which had been left unsecured at the rear of a Post Road building. The bicycle is described as a Trek mountain bike, color black. The bike also has a green seat and red pedals and is valued at $1,500.00. The owner placed the bike next to a storage shed located at the rear of the building at 1:30 PM. When the owner returned to the area at 2:30 PM he discovered that it had been stolen. He indicated that he did not secure the bike because he believed it to be out of public view.
5) Wednesday, July 25th, arrest of Stephen Morgan, DOB 6/1985, of Detroit, Michigan and Kitteran Payton, DOB 2/1979, of Los Angeles, California. Both men were charged with violating town ordinance pertaining to soliciting without a permit. They posted $199.00 bonds which they elected to forfeit in lieu of court appearance. At approximately 3:52 PM, a resident of Hope Drive called reporting that two persons had come to her residence selling magazines. Both Morgan and Payton were located on Hope Drive and it was determined that neither had the required permit. They were then taken into custody. Both men stated that they had been dropped off in the area by their manager and that they were employed by a company known as Ultimate Solutions headquartered in Sylvania, Ohio. The manager was contacted, arrived at headquarters, and paid the fines.
7) Friday, July 27th, warrant arrest of Frank Angelo, DOB 1/1958, 46 Glendale Circle Stamford. Charge: larceny 5th degree. Angelo was appearing at Bridgeport superior court on an unrelated matter and was detained on the Darien warrant. He was placed under arrest and transported back to Darien where he was processed for the arrest. He was released on a written promise to appear and has a scheduled court date of August 6th. The warrant stems from a bad check that Angelo had given to Sound Energy as payment for oil deliveries in the amount of $540.00. When the check was written on 3/30/12, there were insufficient funds in Angelo's account. Angelo was afforded numerous opportunities to make restitution to Sound Energy, but failed to do so. The arrest warrant was then applied for.
8) Friday, July 27th, domestic violence incidents arrest by warrant of Philip De Terlizzi, DOB 12/1964, 150 Southfield Avenue Stamford. Charges: assault 3rd degree and breach of peace. De Terlizzi was advised of the warrant and turned himself in. He was released on a written promise to appear and has a scheduled court date of July 30th. The arrest stems from two separate incidents involving De Terlizzi and his wife at her residence on the Post Road. On July 24th at approximately 1:00 PM Darien police responded to the Post Road residence and determined that a verbal argument had escalated to the point where De Terlizzi allegedly pushed his wife. While investigating that incident, it was determined that a domestic violence incident had also occurred on June 4th between the two parties. During that incident, the wife alleged that De Terlizzi lunged at her and pushed her into a desk. She produced photographs depicting bruising on her upper left arm. An arrest warrant encompassing both incidents was then applied for.
