FEBRUARY 25TH PRESS BRIEFING

Monday, February 18th, commercial burglary to an office located at 50 Old Kings Highway North. Management had been notified of the burglary on February 17th by maintenance personnel, but elected not to report the incident until the following day due to the fact that nothing appears to have been taken. A maintenance worker had discovered the burglary on the 17th at approximately 10:00 AM. Entry was gained by prying open an exterior side door. The time-frame of the burglary is uncertain.

Tuesday, February 19th, warrant arrest of Bianca Thompson, DOB 6/1989, East 149th Street Bronx, NY. Charges: Obtaining of a controlled drug by fraud, obtaining a controlled drug by forged prescription, illegal use of a false prescription. Thompson was released on a written promise to appear with a scheduled court date of March 1st. The arrest stems from information received from the Monroe Police Department on 6/16/11. On that date, Monroe police arrested three subjects for fraudulently obtaining Oxycodone tablets from a Rite Aid drug store in their jurisdiction. During their investigation, it was determined that one of the subjects, Thompson, may have passed a forged prescription at Grieb's Pharmacy in Darien as it was one of the pharmacies noted on a list possessed by the three. Subsequent investigation revealed that Thompson had fraudulently obtained 240 Oxycodone tablets from Grieb's Pharmacy on 6/13/11 utilizing a bogus prescription never issued by the prescribing physician. Thompson was also captured and identified via the pharmacy's video system. A warrant for her arrest was then applied for.

Friday, February 22nd, arrests by warrant of Katlyne Lauture, DOB 3/1986, and Monefa Hamilton, DOB 10/1989, both residents of 19 Wardwell Street Stamford. Charges for both subjects: Larceny 3rd degree, conspiracy to larceny 3rd degree and illegal use of credit card. Both subjects were notified of the arrest warrants and surrendered themselves being released on a written promise to appear with a scheduled court date of March 4th. The arrests stem from an investigation initiated on 12/11/12 at the Equinox Gym located at 72 Heights Road. Management reported that two employees had used member's credit card information to purchase clothing at the Equinox Gyms located in Darien and Greenwich. It is alleged that Lauture obtained member's credit card information, recorded the numbers, and provided the numbers to Hamilton who then made the purchases. Between 11/27/12 and 12/6/12, seven fraudulent purchases were made totaling $1,621.55. When confronted with the allegations, both subjects admitted to their illegal activities.

Sunday, February 24th, arrest of Vincent Denardo, DOB 3/1960, 53 Seaside Avenue Stamford. Charges: DWI and failure to obey stop sign. At approximately 12:52 AM, Denardo was observed operating his 2012 Lexus westbound on the Post Road traveling at a very slow rate of speed. The vehicle turned onto Ledge Road subsequently failing to stop at the stop sign located at the base of I-95 entrance ramp 11. Denardo failed his field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He posted a $250.00 bond and has a scheduled court date of March 7th.
