Did you know that you can celebrate your child's birthday at the Darien Nature Center?
Following are some details on parties that you can choose fromr:
The Ultimate Party
For any child's occasion
The Ultimate Party is not just a birthday party. Celebrate any special accomplishment or special day for your child and his/her friends. The children will enjoy a hike on the trails and around the park. They will visit the zoo room and learn about the animals. The children will make and bake pizza, enjoy cake and watch a movie.
The party includes pizza fixings, movie and hostess. Cake, party favors, etc...will be provided by the parents. The Ultimate Party is a drop off party
1-15 guests - 4 hours - $450
$10 each additional guest up to 20.
Themed Party
Ages 7 and up
Go Fish!
Children will learn to string and bait a fishing pole. They will fish, use nets and release the fish back to their habitat (spring and summer only)
Tent Party!
Children will collect wood, build a fire and erect a tent. Knot tying , trail trekking, cooking hot dogs and s'mores over an open fire is the best!! (spring, summer, fall only)
Treasure Hunt
Using maps, compasses and clues, children will hunt for hidden treasure. Outdoor games and challenges make for a great outdoor birthday. (year round)
Go Fly A Kite!
Each child will make, decorate and fly his own kite. A kite for the birthday child is signed and decorated by his/her friends. Pray for wind! (spring, summer, fall)
Nite Hike
Children will use their senses to navigate the trails. A nocturnal animal presentation and campfire cookout are all part of the fun. (spring, summer, fall, Friday and Saturday evenings only)
Theme Parties 1-12 guests $300
13-20 guests $350
20+ guests $10 per guest
An additional $30 fee will be charged on all parties over 12 guests for a hostess assistant. This $30 is to be paid in cash to the assistant the day of the party.
Critter Party
Ages 3-6
Celebrate your child's special day with a hands on visit with live animals. The hostess will present your choice of age appropriate animals that will make this the party to remember.
Children will take an I Spy hike on the trails. They will search for several different wonders of the woods.
A craft will be substituted in case of inclement weather.
Critter Parties: 1-12 guests $250
13-18 guests $300
19-24 guests $325
There will be a $25 additional fee charged for an assistant for parties of 13 guests and over.
Critter parties run for 1-1/2 hours. You may come 15 minutes early to set up the party room and you have 15 minutes after the party for clean up.
In the Event of Bad Weather: Planned Craft (age appropriate). In the event of bad weather our hostess will plan an age appropriate craft for your child and guests. They will play indoor games and visit with our animals.
All of our parties can be changed to accommodate the needs of your child.
Parents provide all food, beverages and paper goods for your party, except where specified otherwise.
If assistant is needed please bring cash to pay party assistant the day of party
No alcoholic beverages may be served
No balloons please.
Guests include children, parents, siblings, etc...
Please do not use live animals for goodie bags (fish, frogs, turtles, etc...)
