
1) Wednesday, June 12th, domestic violence incident and arrest. Arrested: James Cintron, DOB 10/1981, 90 Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Charges: Assault 3rd degree, breach of peace 2nd degree, and risk of injury to a minor (2 counts). At approximately 4:30 AM, a call was received indicating that persons were verbally shouting at 90 Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Upon the arrival of officers, it was ascertained that Cintron and his wife had gotten into a verbal argument and at one point Cintron left the residence. When the wife went to look for him in her vehicle, it is alleged that Cintron punched the vehicle's window and also punched his wife in the face. Both subjects then returned to their residence. Additional investigation revealed that Cintron's two children, ages 6 and 9, were sleeping in the basement and that Cintron had left a loaded rifle in close proximity to them. Officers seized three rifes, a revolver, and assorted ammunition for safekeeping as a result of his actions. Cintron was held in lieu of a $250,000.00 bond which he did not post. He was presented for arraignment on June 13th.
2) Wednesday, June 12th, warrant arrest of Dustin Bowden, DOB 10/1984, 2241 Webster Avenue Bronx, NY. Charges: Criminal attempt to larceny 3rd, conspiracy to larceny 3rd, forgery 2nd, conspiracy to forgery 2nd, identity theft, conspiracy to identity theft and interfering with an officer. Darien police were contacted by Stamford police indicating that they had taken Bowden into custody on the strength of Darien's arrest warrant. Bowden was transported to Darien police headquarters and processed for the arrest. He posted a $25,000.00 bond and has a scheduled court date of June 25th. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on September 5, 2012 at the HSBC Bank located at 151 Post Road. On that date, a female identified as Stephanie Jeffry had been arrested during an attempt to withdraw $3,000.00 from a customer's account. She was also responsible for successfully withdrawing $2,800.00 from a customer's account at an HSBC Bank branch in Stamford. She was found to be in possession of bogus identification and actual legitimate account holder information. Investigation revealed that Bowden had been acting in concert with Jeffry, had driven her to both banks, and had provided her with the account information and bogus identification. A warrant for his arrest was then applied for.
3) Thursday, June 13th, arrest of Dariusz Lesniewski, DOB 3/1976, 4 Devonshire Drive. Charges: Criminal attempt to burglary 2nd, criminal mischief 1st degree, and breach of the peace 2nd degree. At approximately 1:00 AM, police received a call reporting that a male was attempting to enter a residence on Glenwood Drive by forcing open the front door. Upon arrival, officers located Lesniewski walking nearby. The resident indicated that he was awakened by the sounds of banging on his front door. He then observed that Lesniewski had damaged the door to the point where some of the panels had broken free. The resident further observed that Lesniewski was attempting to reach in and unlock the door. While this was occurring he was yelling at the resident. Lesniewski's wife reported that her husband had learned that she had spoken with the Glenwood Drive resident earlier in the day as she was walking around the neighborhood with her children. Apparently this activity had angered Lesniewski and precipitated his actions. Lesniewski was held in lieu of $50,000.00 bond which he did not post. He was presented for arraignment later that morning.
4) Thursday, June 13th, warrant arrest of Lisa Whitnum-Baker, age 52, 123 Henry Street Greenwich. Charge: Harassment 2nd degree. Whitnum-Baker turned herself in to police after being advised of the warrant. She posted a $5,000.00 bond and has a scheduled court date of June 25th. The arrest stems from a complaint filed by the Director of the Atria facility located at 50 Ledge Road. Whitnum-Baker is not allowed on the Atria premises, and had left harassing messages on the facility Director's office and home telephones. The messages indicated that Whitnum-Baker, and perhaps other family members, are not pleased with the Director's actions against Whitnum-Baker and that she and the family members were to going to confront her at her residence in the near future. This caused the Director to be fearful about a possible confrontation. A warrant for Whitnum-Baker's arrest was then applied for.
6) Saturday, June 15th, arrest of Sean Murphy, DOB 2/1992, 422 Hamden Court Wyckkoff, NJ. At approximately 3:20 AM, an officer was traveling north on I-95 in the area of exit 12 when he observed a subject walking on the highway shoulder. The subject, later identified as Murphy, was talking on a cell phone and waving his arms in an apparent attempt to hitch a ride. The officer observed that he was unsteady on his feet and at one point almost fell over a guard rail. The officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person, and noted that Murphy appeared jittery and nervous. He admitted to having consumed cocaine 30 minutes prior. Upon conducting a search of his wallet, officers located a clear plastic baggie containing .6 grams of cocaine. Murphy was placed under arrest, posted a $1,000.00 bond, and has a scheduled court date of June 24th.
7) Sunday, June 16th, arrest of William Batista, DOB 8/1946, 137 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, apartment 213. Charge: larceny 6th degree. At approximately 3:00
PM, Darien police received a report of a stolen iPhone from the Stop and Shop parking lot located at 148 Heights Road. The iPhone is valued at approximately $400.00. The Complainant stated that after shopping at Stop and Shop, she inadvertently left her iPhone in a shopping cart. When she returned a short time later, the iPhone was missing and it had not been turned into management at Stop and Shop. When using the iPhone tracking application, the phone was determined to be located at the Avalon apartments at 137 Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Officers next activated the "play sound" application, and ascertained that the iPhone's emitted sound was coming from an open window to apartment 213. There was no one home at the time, and contact information was received from management for Batista, the listed tenant, who arrived on scene. The iPhone was recovered and returned to the owner. Batista was issued a misdemeanor summons, and has a scheduled court date of June 26th.
