Two Roads Brewery in Stratford is re-releasing one of last year's favorite brews, Igor's Dream Russian Imperial Stout, with a kick off tasting event on Saturday, January 25th at the brewery located pon 1700 Stratford Avenue.
Igor's Dream is brewed as an unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout brewed with rye in aged oak whiskey barrels. The rye and oak whiskey
aging gives the beer a deeper character and richness. The beer is strong at 10.9% alcohol by volume (abv). The stout is named in honor of Igor Sikorsky, Stratford native and inventor of the helicopter.
The first vintage in 2013 produced 400 bottles of Igor's Dream and due to popular demand and the growth of the brewing facilities, the 2014 vintage is nearly 5 times as large at 1980 bottles. The price
is now $20 for a 20 oz bottle, which is down from $25 for the same bottle size in 2013. Tastings of 5 oz and 8 oz pours are also available in the tasting room. Due to limited supply, growler fills are nor available, but growlers are welcome for Two Road's other beers starting at 1 pm, Saturday.
Connecticut Heroes Foundation. Food trucks will be on site including Fryborg, Caseaus Grilled Cheese, Cowabunga Burgers and Firehouse Grill.
