Stamford Hospital’s Spring Med-Ed Series at New Canaan Library Focuses on Orthopedics: " Common Shoulder and Knee Injuries and Treatment Options"

Stamford Hospital's Med-Ed series at New Canaan Library presents the second in the five lecture series on Tuesday, May 12. The topic of the evening concerns common shoulder and knee injuries and the different treatment options available. The lecture series is co-sponsored by the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce. This, and all of the upcoming Med-Ed lectures, begin at 6:30 PM in the Library's Adrian Lamb Room

The lecture will be a dual presentation by orthopedic specialists Dr. Corinne Van Beek and Dr. Daniel Zelazny. Dr. Van Beek will present an overview of upper extremity and shoulder anatomy as well as both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Dr. Zelazny will deliver a talk on basic knee anatomy, and the treatment options for common knee injuries.

Deena Ebright, MD, general internist and Med-Ed Program Director, invites the public to attend this unique series that mimics the medical school experience. Stamford Hospital’s board certified physicians will speak about medical and health topics in an informative, collaborative manner and in a language everyone can understand. The series continues as follows:

Tuesday, May 19: "Cardiology: How the Heart Functions and Common Diseases",with Dr. Evelyn Cusak.

Tuesday, May 26: "Pulmonary: Every Breath you Take," with Dr. Michael Berstein

Tuesday, June 2: " Current Topics in Gastroenterological Health and Disease," with Dr. Sarah   Kahn
