Darien Arts Center Announces Summer Programs for Children and Teens

DARIEN, Conn. — The Darien Arts Center (DAC) is excited to announce a vibrant lineup of summer programs designed to spark creativity, encourage exploration and build community through the arts. From budding performers to aspiring visual artists, children and teens can dive into a wide range of enriching experiences in dance, music and visual arts — all in a supportive and engaging environment.
With camps and classes led by professional dancers, artists and musicians, students can try something new or deepen their skills in small group settings that allow for personalized instruction and joyful collaboration. Highlights include petite dancer camps, specialized ballet intensives, hands-on visual arts workshops, and specialty programs like Camp SparkHarp, a harp camp for children in grades 1–8.
Our goal is to offer a space where young artists can freely explore their creativity over the summer,” said Executive Director Wendy Mitchell. “Whether they’re trying something new or deepening an existing passion, our summer programs go beyond teaching technique — they nurture self-confidence, inspire imagination, and foster meaningful connections within the arts community.”
All summer programs take place at Darien Arts Center, located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind Town Hall, with some held at their new Annex Studio, conveniently located in the heart of Darien at 537 Post Road.
Flexible scheduling and one-day workshops make it easy for families to fit the arts into their summer plans. Additionally, the DAC is offering weekly dance, visual arts and music classes for adults, teens and children.

About the Darien Arts Center
Founded in 1975, Darien Arts Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, promoting and providing the means of artistic expression in dance, music, visual arts and theatre for members of the community of all ages.
The board of directors and various committees volunteer their time to represent the different areas of interest and oversee the diverse activities of the Darien Arts Center and its programs, including dance, music, theatre and visual arts. Our classes instruct close to 600 students of all ages each week, taking advantage of all the DAC has to offer. Hundreds more are involved with the performing arts.
The programs would not be possible without the encouragement of the thousands of area residents who come out in support of these events and have stood by us and helped us grow into the successful and thriving organization we are today. For that we say “thank you!” And we promise we will continue to present the very best theatre, music, dance and visual arts for you and your family for generations to come.
