AI 101: What Is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence is everywhere — from video games and streaming recommendations to smartphones, social media, search engines, and chatbots like ChatGPT. But what actually makes something “AI”?
In this interactive class, participants will explore how artificial intelligence works, learn the basics of algorithms, training data, and generative AI, and discover how AI is already part of everyday life. We’ll put those skills to the test with a game of “AI or Not AI?” and look at real-world examples to figure out what counts as artificial intelligence — and what doesn’t.
No previous AI experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity!
Community Service Opportunity: Participants who attend the full program will earn community service hours and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the class. 6th to 12th grade.
