Adapted by Rodriguez from the classic The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca, Alba is a beautiful, heartfelt story about Bernarda and her three daughters. Gary Cadwallader leads an interactive classroom discussion about Lorca’s Spain, the Miami Cuban community, and the Alba family’s attempt to make sense of the unspoken secrets that led to a tragic event. Participants receive a copy of the play prior to class, and a comprehensive, informative PBD Dramaguide written specifically for this class. Participants leave with a deeper understanding of the play and its examination of grief, strength, and redemption. Space is limited to foster discussion.
