An intimate evening featuring nine-time Grammy Award winner Jose Feliciano is planned at Fairfield Museum and History Center, Saturday, March 29th at 8 pm as part of an ongoing celebration of Fairfield's 375th Anniversary.
Feliciano is recognized in Fairfield Museum and History Center's new exhibition Fairfield's Rockin' Top Ten as one of America's most renowned musicians who have called Fairfield and surrounding communities home and have created some of their best work here. Fairfield's Rockin' Top Ten, sponsored by First Niagara, celebrates 10 musicians who have helped create our community's musical legacy and features rare photographs, music videos and iconic artifacts.
This rare opportunity to experience the musical genius of Feliciano, acclaimed by critics around the world as "The Greatest Living Guitarist," is one of the program highlights of the exhibition. Feliciano's countless accomplishments include being awarded over forty-five Gold and Platinum records; he has won nineteen Grammy nominations, earning nine Grammy Awards, and the "LARAS Award for Lifetime Achievement."
Referred to as the world's leading "Crossover Artist," Feliciano is well-known for his many internationally renowned songs, including "Light My Fire," which topped the charts globally in 1968 (because of Jose's interpretation of the song, according to the its publisher, "Light My Fire" is now considered a "standard") and "Feliz Navidad," the iconic Christmas classic that is a tradition worldwide during the holiday season each year.
Feliciano resides with his family in a 275+ year-old home, formerly a tavern, in Fairfield County for more than 20 years and generously gives his time and talent to the community.

Fairfield Museum and History Center is a community cultural arts and education center established in 2007 by the 103-year old Fairfield Historical Society.
